  All Day From the Earth   From the Earth celebrates rural living around the hills of Alfred, New York. It is a one day event that promotes our connections to the land in meaningful, creative, sustainable, and educational ways. Visit seven locations offering talks and workshops on the subjects of farming, gardening, composting, natural history, bird watching, beekeeping, cheese making, timber framing, solar power, permaculture, raising sheep, nature poetry, weaving, natural dyeing, and fiber arts. This eleventh annual will have an impressive total of fourteen presentations led by knowledgeable experts who have volunteered their time for this free event. From the Earth is family friendly and created with a labor of love and respect for the Earth. Have a “passport” signed at four or more locations and enter to win a gift basket of goodies donated by From the Earth participants.   All Day 143rd Troy Fair   This family-fun annual tradition features midway rides and games, live music, racing pigs, livestock exhibits and shows, an agriculture showcase, farmers market, craft fair, car show, motorsports, chainsaw carving, community exhibits, vendors, favorite fair food and more. Pay-one-price fair admission includes: * Dreamland Amusements Midway mechanical rides * Rosaire's Royal Racers (racing pigs) * Stunt comedy shows by Wade Henry, "The High Roller" * "National Champion Chainsaw Sculptor" Dennis Beach * Peterson Farm Bros. (Monday) * The Belle Tones (Tuesday) * Sheep & Wool Day (Wednesday) * Martin Family music (Wednesday - Thursday) * Farmers Market & Crafts (Thursday - Friday) * Music by B2Wins (Friday - Saturday) * Car & Motorcycle Show (Saturday) Fair admission is $8. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Parking is free. Come join us for our 6th Annual CASA Superhero 5K & Fun Run on September 23, 2018 at Kinsella Park in Painted Post. Registration starts at 8am, the 5K at 9am, and the 1K Fun Run at 10am.
